Friends in the Community

The Airdrie Food Bank and the Royal Canadian Legion Airdrie Branch 288 work together to provide support to veterans and their families and members who are dealing with food insecurity. We are dedicated to supporting our local veterans and recognizing their invaluable contributions to our community. Together, we can ensure that those who have served our country receive the support they deserve. Visit their site >> Airdrie Food Bank

Airdrie Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization that has been committed since 1983 to providing affordable, nutritious, well-balanced, and flavourful meals to seniors, homebound individuals, or those who struggle to shop, chop & prepare meals on their own, all while respecting independence and dignity.  Delivery is 5 days a week with the option of ordering extra meals for weekends and holidays.  There is flexibility to our plans so clients can opt in 2 times a week or 5. Our financial supporter aid us in keeping meals subsidized for those on fixed incomes, and our team of volunteers make the organization work.  Meals are prepared at a local senior's living facility so we can easily accommodate dietary restrictions, and our client liaison must be made aware of allergies during the intake interview.  Meal prices are on a sliding scale and veterans are asked to please identify themselves as veterans so proper billing can be put in place.
