President’s Message

Comrades,
As a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, I am honoured to represent Airdrie Branch 288 as President to uphold our mission to serve Veterans, including serving Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP members and their families, to promote Remembrance, and to serve our communities and our Country.
During this past year, our Airdrie Legion has established several partnerships with local businesses and has worked alongside the City of Airdrie and ANAVET (Army, Navy, Airforce Veterans in Canada) to complete a Veterans Memorial Project along Veterans Boulevard, creating a permanent tribute to Canadian veterans. The formal dedication ceremony is planned for September 20 and further details will be provided.
Our Airdrie Legion currently stands at 400 members to whom we can offer a wide variety of services. The success of the Legion depends on our ability to grow membership and to raise funds through programs and events to support veterans, the Cadet Corps, and the community.
This year’s Poppy Campaign will run from October 31 to November 10, with the Remembrance Day ceremony held at Genesis Place on November 11. Your support for a successful campaign is appreciated.
Please accept this as your personal invitation to visit the Airdrie Legion for good food and fellowship. I look forward to seeing you there! Should you have any comments or suggestions on ways to improve our services, my contact information is shown below.
